As the packzis were being passed this morning, I decided that this Lent, I’m going to make it my mission to do one nourishing thing for myself each day. It may be nourishing to my mind, body, or soul. I might decide to enjoy nature, experiment in the kitchen, make some art, or read something inspirational.

The comments on my post Letting Go of Food Rules (both on the actual post and those emailed to me privately) have confirmed what I’ve suspected for awhile now: That we do not take the time to nourish ourselves.

Rather than giving something up, I want to see what I can take the time to notice. I want to stop and smell the snow; to savor healthy food; to take pleasure in creating pretty things. Please consider joining me to find one thing each day that you can do to nourish your body, mind, or soul.

    I do one thing each day to nourish myself. Sleep. Most of us are walking around sleep deprived. Even if it’s just a quick nap, this one thing does more to nourish me than anything else.
