As part of my goal to raise awareness about global poverty on this blog, I’ve decided to use this space to promote the 58: Global Impact Tour. Each month will feature a different country and issue. This month it’s Helping the Poor Start New Businesses in Rwanda.

As part of my goal to raise awareness about global poverty on this blog, I’ve decided to use this space to promote the 58: Global Impact Tour. Each month will feature a different country and issue. This month it’s Helping the Poor Start New Businesses in Rwanda.

Venture capitalists fund new enterprises for profit. Adventure capitalists fund new businesses, but the returns they seek are social, not financial. Adventure capitalists invest in high-potential people in underserved countries like Rwanda. Though most beneficiaries of these investments haven’t had prior access to capital, business training, or savings services, their business ideas can free their families from poverty and make them catalysts for change in their own communities.  — 58
